Brazilian property owners boosted by A1GP return
Spectators coming to watch the A1GP will boost Brazilian real estate owners as the event returns to South America in 2010.
Despite speculation over the competition’s future, a nine race calendar has been unveiled for the fifth season of the nation-versus-nation competition.
Brazilian real estate owners will welcome motorsport fans in early March next year, ready for race-day which takes place on March 14th.
Marketing for the event will also be improved after A1GP bosses signed a deal with IMG Sports Media to promote the series over the next three years.
Tony Teixeira, A1GP chairman, said that he wanted to make sure that the race calendar gave broadcasters, teams and fans "something realistic".
He added: "I also wanted to make sure the racing was good and varied. I am confident this line-up, which may still include at least one more event, will achieve our criteria for the series."
It is expected that the race will be hosted at Brazil’s famous Interlagos circuit, which dates back to the 1920s.
The track has witnessed the birth of Brazilian motor racing legends such as Ayrton Senna, Rubens Barichello and Felipe Massa.
