Brazilian property owners ’should learn Portuguese’
Those who are thinking of investing in property in Brazil should make sure that they learn some Portuguese, according to an expat in the country.
Speaking to Brazilian news website Gringoes.com, Mary de Camargo said that she would also advise anyone moving to the country to make sure that they search for a job before leaving for South America.
She added that unless people are willing to ship their car and other large items out to their new Brazilian property, then they might have to do without them but "the lifestyle and the love from the people can make up for any material possessions".
Mrs de Camargo, who moved from the US to Sao Paulo three years ago with her Brazilian husband, told the website that she also feels safer in Brazil thanks to her "beautiful house".
JustBrazil.org said that English is now the principal second language in Brazil, while many people in the country can also understand and communicate in Spanish.
