Brazilian property owners to witness football reunion
Brazilian property owners will get to witness a special exhibition of footballing skills when the World Cup winners of 1994 and 2002 play in a friendly game.
Chinese news agency Xinhua reported that the event has been organised by former Middlesbrough midfielder Juninho Paulista and will feature the stars of two vintage years of football.
Members of the 1994 team who have confirmed their participation include Marcio Santos, Ricardo Rocha, Mauro Silva, Rai and Bebeto. The squad famously beat Italy in the final thanks to a missed penalty by Roberto Baggio.
Stars such as Roberto Carlos, Vampeta, Junior and coach Luiz Felipe Scolari will all be present for the 2002 side, which claimed Brazil’s fifth World Cup triumph when they beat Germany 2-0.
The fixture is set to be played in the Sao Paolo city of Itu on December 22nd, although Brazilian legend Ronaldo, who played in both finals, has said that he will not be playing in the match.
