Brazilian property purchase ‘could offset low value British assets’
Investing in Brazilian property could be a way to offset the depreciation in value of British-based assets, according to an expert.
ShelterOffshore.com says the six to 12 per cent rental yields in some tourist areas and 20 per cent per annum rise in values compare favourably to decreasing housing prices in the UK, which are currently depreciating by ten per cent each year.
"Prices for property in Brazil are still cheap and affordable in relative terms," it asserts.
Brazilian property investors are currently able to get payment installment plans on purchases of some new and off-plan developments, according to the website.
It says this is one of the options for buyers, while the other is raising equity against their own home.
The website explains that payback terms for installment plans are between 12 and 60 months and interest rates are usually competitive.
Recently, Nick Cates, global business development manager at BRIC Group, told the Move Channel that real estate in Brazil offers a "fantastic" opportunity for investors.
