Brazilian property to benefit from World Cup economic boost
The benefits that Brazilian property owners could get out of the South American country’s hosting of the 2014 football World Cup could be massive, according to predictions.
Brazil’s ministry of sport said that around 600,000 foreign football fans will visit the country during the finals, which will take place in 12 cities.
This will mean that fans travelling to Curitiba and Porto Alegre in the south, Belo Horizonte, Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo in the south-east, and Fortaleza, Natal and Recife in the north-east will all need somewhere to stay for the duration of the tournament.
Brazilian property owners might also benefit from changes in infrastructure in the locality of the stadiums, with airports and urban transport networks already receiving investment.
Laura Rendell-Dunn, spokesperson for Journey Latin America, said recently that the competition will be a "massive event" in the country.
