Brazilians ‘very happy’ with government
Brazilians are extremely happy with their country it seems, as President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva’s approval rating hit a record 84 per cent last month.
Despite the worldwide unrest, President Lula da Silva and his administration are very popular, with the government also achieving record approval figures of 72.5 per cent in January and 71.1 per cent the month before, people looking for property in Brazil may be interested to learn.
Only five per cent of the 2,000 people polled by research company CNT/Sensus between January 26th and the 30th think the country is being run badly.
President Lula da Silva’s disapproval rating declined from 15.2 per cent in December to 12.2 per cent last month.
Clesio Andrade, president of the CNT, says the leader is an "anchor of hope" for Brazilians.
The head of state’s approval rating has risen steeply over the last few months, from 70.3 per cent in April 2008, to 80.3 per cent in November last year.
