Brazil’s consumer confidence rising
People considering buying property is Brazil could be interested to hear that the nation’s consumers’ confidence in their own economy is booming, according to one source.
The Consumer Expectation Survey was released yesterday (May 27th) by the Getulio Vargas Foundation, showing that consumer confidence rose two per cent from April to May, ANBA reports.
According to the Consumer Confidence Index, which measures the current and expected variables, the figures show an expansion from the same period last year of 5.6 per cent.
The survey is based on a sample of 2,000 households in seven of the Latin American nation’s main cities.
IMD recently revealed the South American nation’s economy is its region’s biggest and is becoming more competitive as it has jumped six spots up the world competitiveness yearbook to 43rd place.
Meanwhile, earlier in the month new figures showed that Sao Paulo’s retail sector had grown by 6.1 per cent in March.
