Brits look to overseas lifestyle
More Britons could be looking for Brazilian property in which to start life afresh overseas, it has emerged.
Research by NatWest has found that increasingly Britons are attracted by the option of working abroad or retiring in an overseas country.
Some 87 per cent of expatriates have said their lives are better since purchasing a property abroad and moving there on a permanent basis, the bank’s study found.
The survey comes as Brazil was recently tipped by Homesgofast.com as one of the hot property locations for 2008.
Some 1.8 million Britons are expected to spend their latter years abroad by 2025 and 3.3 million by 2050, according to the NatWest study.
"There’s a lot of opportunity now for people to go abroad and just expand their horizons; in terms of work opportunity, but also in terms of actual lifestyle opportunity," commented David Isley, head of NatWest International Personal Banking.
