Chinese vice president ‘visits Brazil’
Chinese vice president Xi Jinping will arrive in Brazil on an official visit today, with the aim of maintaining strong ties between the two economic powers.
Brazilian property investors may be interested to learn that the two countries are entering the 35th year of their diplomatic relationship, which has seen continued healthy and stable connections between them, according to Xinhua.
President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva visited China in 2004, while deputy Jose Alencar travelled to the country in 2006.
The two nations, which are both the biggest developing markets in their respective continents, have benefited from bilateral trade, which has grown by 30 per cent annually for the last eight years, the news provider says.
China is Brazil’s second largest commercial partner behind the United States, overtaking Argentina in 2008.
In first ten months of 2008, trading between the two countries was worth $42.54 billion (£29.9 billion).
Recently, President Lula da Silva said that Brazil will become a major exporter of fish in the future, Xinhua reports.
