Derbyshire dancers head to Brazil for carnival
Dancing sisters from Derbyshire are travelling to Brazil to perform their Moulin Rouge act at the famous Rio de Janeiro carnival.
Natalie and Gaynor Sims will be on one of the largest floats, doing their can-can routine with other performers from the Parisian Moulin Rouge club, the Derbyshire Evening Telegraph reports.
They will dance for 85 minutes along with 24 other women and four men in the group and will sing in Brazil’s native language, Portuguese.
"You see it on TV and think you could never be involved in something like that. Then this opportunity comes up, which is one that you could not even think about saying no to," Natalie, 25, tells the newspaper.
Gaynor, 27, adds that she has been excited about the performance for weeks.
Laura Rendell-Dunn, marketing executive for travel company Journey Latin America, recently described the Rio de Janeiro carnival as a "unique festival" and said there is no other experience like it in the world.
