Embraer expands in the US
A Brazilian aviation manufacturer has announced it plans to expand its operations in the US.
People considering buying property in Brazil could be interested to hear that Embraer plans to expand in the US as it may result in more air traffic between the two countries.
Embraer plans to establish a new facility to house a final assembly line capable of producing both its Phenom jet models.
The location for the new development is Melbourne International Airport in Florida and the firm is awaiting approval by the state and local governments.
Frederico Fleury Curado, president and chief executive of the company, said: "We are very excited and confident that our new location will be a successful step and a special milestone for the company.
"We look forward to working with local officials to finalise the proposal and begin the development of this new facility."
Meanwhile, the Brazilian firm announced record profits for the first quarter of 2008 as its backlog order increased by $1.5 billion (£750 million) to $20.3 billion.
