Expert: Economy and charisma of president contributing to Brazil’s success
People interested in Brazilian property investment have been told that a strong economy and forward-thinking president have boosted the country.
Forbes said that the fact that the economy has performed relatively well during the financial crisis, combined with President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva’s charisma have contributed to the country becoming the first South American host of the Olympic Games.
The source also said that the footballing World Cup, which is due to be hosted in the country in 2014, could boost Brazilian property on a larger scale as events and infrastructure improvement opportunities are due to be spread around 12 cities.
Places such as Belo Horizonte, Curitiba, Natal, Sao Paulo and the capital Brasilia will be among locations to benefit from new stadia, hotels and other facilities.
It is also estimated that up to 120,000 jobs will be created each year until the Rio de Janeiro Olympics in 2016, with many being in Brazilian property construction.
