Expert: More to Brazilian property than the beachfront
People looking at investing in Brazilian property should look slightly inland for the best opportunities, according to an industry expert.
Alexander Wasastjerna, a senior partner at Brazilian Homes, told Nuwireinvestor that the country has a very long coastline, of almost 7,500km, full of stunning beaches and, as a result, most foreigners have a pre-set image that it only makes sense to buy beachfront property.
"In most of the popular tourist areas in Brazil, very few beachfront properties are for sale, as there is virtually no land available for creating new real estate developments," he added.
The expert also said that many of the properties away from the beach provide excellent rental income, because the areas are hugely popular with Brazilian tourists.
Mr Wasastjerna advised that for investment purposes, it only makes sense to buy a property in an area which will see an influx of clients.
Brazilian property in Natal, which is just off the north-eastern coastline, is currently a popular choice, having a number of stunning beaches just a few kilometres away from the inland city centre.
