Extra Brazilian flight options created
A new deal between TAM and Lufthansa airlines will create more Brazilian flight options.
The code-share agreement for flights between the two countries is expected to begin in the first half of 2008 after which passengers on board Lufthansa flights departing from Sao Paulo and arriving in Frankfurt and Munich will be able to purchase tickets for TAM flights.
In addition travellers flying from Frankfurt will benefit from connections to other destinations in Germany as well as Zurich and Geneva in Switzerland.
On Brazilian soil Lufthansa passengers will be offered connections from Sao Paulo to Rio de Janeiro, Porto Alegre, Curitiba, Belo Horizonte, Brasilia, Recife, Florianopolis, Salvador and Foz do Iguacu.
Under the terms of the agreement, as of February 2008 passengers travelling with both airlines will be able to accumulate and swap points earned on TAM’s Programa Fidelidade loyalty programme and miles with Lufthansa’s Miles and More programme, on flights operated by either carrier.
The deal is good news for property developers in Brazil as it will improve access to country.
