FIFA to announce Brazil world cup host cities
Brazilian property investors will be paying close attention to the outcome of a FIFA executive committee meeting at the weekend, during which the 12 host cities for the 2014 World Cup will be decided.
The panel, chaired by president Sepp Blatter, will convene in Nassau in the Bahamas to discuss a range of topics, including the designation of the regions which will see World Cup matches staged in five years’ time.
An announcement as to which areas will become major opportunities for Brazilian property investors will be made shortly before the end of the meeting on May 31st.
FIFA decided to increase the number of host cities from ten to 12 in January and Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro are widely expected to open and close the tournament.
Meanwhile, Erin Scott, trend analyst at Property Abroad, said interest in Brazil real estate has risen due to the country hosting the World Cup, as investors want to purchase while prices are low.
