Medical industry booms
Those considering buying property in Brazil could be interested to hear medical excellence is driving industry growth in the Latin American nation.
It is reported by Economia Interativa the Brazilian medical manufacturing industry posted revenues of $3.74 billion in 2007– up 21 per cent on the previous year, according to industry association Abimo.
Hely Maestrello, executive director at the body, told the publication the country’s sector is following the strong global growth trend.
"We currently generate more employment than the toy industry, and our exports are greater than those of the pharmaceutical industry," he added.
The extra jobs created by the industry could result in an increased demand for Brazilian property around areas where they are located.
In related news, an international medical fair attracted thousands of visitors to Brazil last month.
Hospitalar showcased more than 1,100 companies from 33 different nations in Sao Paulo’s Expo Center Norte exhibition hall.
