Brazil Property News: Another Brazilian industry reports record year

Yet another sector of the Brazilian economy is reporting a record year in 2007.
Following news that Brazilian agribusiness had achieved an all-time high surplus in sales, the nation's paint industry has announced that 2007 was its best year ever.
During last year the industry achieved sales volumes of one billion litres – an eight per cent increase compared with 2006 – and revenues posted by the sector stood at 4.7 billion reais (£1.3 billion).
The figures were disclosed by the Brazilian Paint Manufacturers Association whose president, Dilson Ferreira, said that the industry's performance had "surpassed expectations", reports Brazzil Mag.
Ferreira added: "[With economic growth] sales of paint also rise, as they are present in virtually every manufactured product."
Other thriving industries include Brazil's chicken exports, which were up by 21 per cent compared with 2006 totalling revenues of $5 billion (£2.5 billion).
It was reported earlier this month that the Latin American nation's tourist market has also experienced an economic boost with foreign tourists spending a record amount of money visiting Brazil in 2007.
