Brazil Property News: Arab investors sought for Brazilian tourism

Brazil is seeking Arab investors to further strengthen its budding tourism industry.
Representatives from the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism along with the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce have flown to the United Arab Emirates this week to promote the Latin American country as an "attractive destination" for investment in hospitality.
The administrative vice-president of the Arab Brazilian Chamber, Paulo Atallah, told Brazilian Arab news agency ANBA: "We are beginning a new process: presenting Brazil as an investment destination."
Delegates are seeking out Arab firms that are willing to invest in hotels and real estate hospitality projects and are using Brazil's position as official host of the World Cup 2014 as a selling point.
Alfredo Moraes, director of the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism, also told the agency: "We are presenting several opportunities in Brazil and the World Cup is one of them, as it should foster tourism even further."
According to Embratur, Brazil's institute of tourism, 5.3 million international passengers arrived in Brazil between January and October this year.
Furthermore in October alone the number of international tourists visiting the country totalled 552,500 – an increase of 15.2 per cent compared with the same month in 2006.
