Brazil Property News: Brazil a potential 'world leader' in agriculture

10th July 2008 04:36

Brazil's "natural talent" in the agricultural sector has again been recognised, this time by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.

According to the organisation's president, Antonio Sarkis, the Latin American nation's economy complements that of the Arab world and this is becoming increasingly evident - not only to Brazilian property buyers.

"Trade is already consolidated and the Arabs must mainly import in the agricultural area, whereas Brazil has a natural talent to become one of the world leaders in this sector," the president told Anba this week.

He went on to acknowledge Brazil's current participation in the Arab food market, with Brazilian exports of foods to the region generating $ 2.4 billion (£1.2 billion) in the first half of this year alone.

The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce also seeks to promote tourism business in Brazil, a move aimed at attracting lucrative investments as well as Arab travellers.

Mr Sarkis' comments come ahead of Sao Paulo's Super Harem Nights show, an Arabic-themed extravaganza of dance and music taking over the city's Santo Agostinho theatre this weekend.
