Brazil Property News: Brazil help farmers

28th August 2008 07:00

Those considering Brazilian property could be interested to hear the Latin American nation is helping its farmers reap record food profits, it has been reported.

While the global price of food soars Brazil is reacting in an opposite way, according to the New York Times.

Farmer Luciano Alves told the newspaper his government is helping the nation's agricultural sector by aiding in the purchase of new machinery.

"They reduced the interest rates we pay and have given us more time to pay off the loans. It's vital," he added.

According to the report, Brazil's economy will be boosted by their farmers being able to produce more while the price of exports is rising.

Reinhold Stephanes, Brazil's agriculture minister, added: "This is our opportunity to produce and export more, and help to reduce hunger in the world."

Meanwhile, it was claimed by A Place in the Sun magazine last week that the Brazilian property market will be boosted from new infrastructure being put in place ahead of the 2014 World Cup.
