Brazil Property News: Brazil leads Latin America's broadband revolution

Brazil is a leader of the Latin American broadband market, which is fast becoming one of the world's "most promising", according to a new report.
The Research and Markets report revealed the region had a compound annual growth rate of more than half (54 per cent) from 2003 to 2007.
People considering buying property in Brazil could be interested to hear that the country's broadband infrastructure is one of the best in its region.
The report provided 123 statistical tables relating to the telecoms markets of 26 Latin American countries and noted that there is a general trend away from fixed-line services to mobile phones.
Meanwhile, a Brazilian telecoms company revealed last month that it was set to complete the first part of its plan to improve broadband services in the country.
Embratel announced it was close to completing an implementation of a broad WiMax (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) network in 12 cities.
It is believed that better internet and telecoms services will drive growth in the country.
