Brazil Property News: Brazil named top for property investment

Brazil has been named as the best destination for property investment in the whole of Latin America after Chile, in a new report this week.
Independent property news website NuWireInvestor said that Brazil offers a "wide variety of investment opportunities" in modern cities such as Sao Paulo and beach-locations around the area of Rio de Janeiro.
Marco Sangez, an online Brazilian property marketing executive, told the website that state investments over recent years have helped transform the north-eastern region of the country.
He said: "The Brazilian government initiated a large public investment program for the north-east around ten years ago [in order] to capitalise on the region's exceptional natural resources."
Mr Sangez highlighted the State of Rio Grande do Norte and areas around the city of Natal as property hotspots, about to undergo a real estate boom.
Brazil now accounts for 14.9 per cent of all freshwater resources in the world and has become the largest producer and exporter of ethanol in the world, according to AQUASTAT and the Economic Research Service of the US Department of Agriculture, respectively.
Earlier this month, a new oil field was uncovered in Brazil, which is thought to hold 40 per cent of the country's total oil reserves, providing a further boost to its economy.
