Brazil Property News: Brazil popular for golf

The area of Ipanema - near Rio de Janeiro - has a great deal to offer golf enthusiasts, it has been claimed.
Writing for Golf Publisher Syndications, William K Wolfrum suggested that Ipanema is a "world-class" destination for tourists, while also offering opportunities for those looking to take to the fairways.
In recent years, Brazil has placed greater emphasis on golf, viewing the pastime as a way to position the country as a "tourism and business leader" in the South American region.
Mr Wolfrum identified the Buzios Golf Club and Resort, the Gavea Golf and Country Club and the Itanhanga Gold Club as some of the best facilities available within easy reach of the area.
Earlier this week, currency specialist HiFX predicted that Brazil would be among the destinations overseas property investors look to invest in 2008.
The firm said that there had been an increase in enquiries for "less traditional" property locations in the last few years.
