Brazil Property News: Brazil real estate could benefit from Chelsea

19th August 2008 07:00

Brazilian property could benefit from reports that Chelsea manager Phil Scolari plans to turn the Fulham club into the "blue Brazil", which could boost the number of tourists visiting the Latin American nation from the capital city.

The new Stamford Bridge boss, who is himself Brazilian, told the Mirror he wants the Premier League runners up to play samba-style soccer.

Scolari added: "The idea is to play our game as similar to Brazilian football as we can. Of course I have players who are made for English football. The characteristics are different and I need to respect the identity of the players and their quality."

Following the Brazilian coach's arrival in West London, he signed fellow countryman Deco from Barcelona for £8 million and has since been chasing Real Madrid's Robinho and AC Milan's Kaka.

Meanwhile, a Place in the Sun magazine recently claimed Brazilian property is set to benefit from new infrastructure being put in place for the 2014 World Cup.

The publication believes new transport networks being laid down in preparation for the sporting event will have a "big impact" and will drive the significance of Rio de Janeiro.
