Brazil Property News: Brazil real estate to benefit from World Cup

15th August 2008 07:00

Brazilian property is set to benefit from new infrastructure being put in place for the 2014 World Cup, it has being claimed.

A Place in the Sun Magazine maintains the transport networks being laid down in preparation for the world's biggest sporting event will have a "big impact" and will "drive the significance" of Rio de Janeiro.

Richard Way, editor of the travel magazine, said the Latin American country's largest airport is planned for the north-eastern city of Natal where there is indication the area is growing into a tourist hub.

"Brazil's middle-classes are booming. Sao Paulo and Rio are the hub of that, especially Sao Paulo, which is more of the commercial hub than Rio but maybe this will drive the commercial significance of Rio as well," he added.

According to BuyAssociation, Brazil is attracting those looking for holiday homes, retirees and investors despite being relatively new on the international real-estate scene.
