Brazil Property News: Brazil to start biofuel boom

31st August 2007 18:14

Brazil is developing as a high tech and environmentally friendly country that will become increasingly attractive to property investors.

Petrobas, the country's state-owned oil and gas company, stated this week that it would be beginning large scale ethanol production from cellulose, report Xinhua.

Climate change is a key issue at present and with a country such as Brazil setting a new standard its eco-activities, many investors may begin to see the South American destination in a new light.

The plan is to begin building the new ethanol fuel plant between 2011 and 2015.

Gilberto de Carvalho, Petrobas projects manager, said the technology will hit "commercial level" in 2015.

The process is an eco-friendly way of fuel production as it allows an alternative production of fuels from biomass leftovers like vegetables.

Belo Horizonte is an inland Brazilian region offering savvy investors many opportunities if then act when the market is right.
