Brazil Property News: Brazil tourism 'is booming'

29th October 2008 12:00

The numbers of holidaymakers heading to Brazil has seen a boost, which could be good news for people with property in Brazil.

Official statistics show that the number of tourists in the nation has been steadily increasing over recent months, despite the ongoing global financial difficulties, reports online news provider Xinhuanet.

The number of people taking a holiday in Brazil increased by 20 per cent from January to September 2008, compared to the same period the previous year, according to figures from the Brazilian Institute of Tourism (Embratur).

In particular, the number of foreign tourists rose, while the financial crisis boosted the number of native tourists as a strong dollar enabled people to travel more widely within the country, stated Jeanine Pires, president of Embratur.

She added that more efforts are needed to make Brazil better known as a nation capable of offering a good holiday experience.

It was recently reported that some of football's biggest names will be enjoying a holiday in Brazil soon.

Football legend Pele has invited a number of his pals onboard his self-titled cruise which sets sail next summer.
