Brazil Property News: Brazilian airline strikes deal with LAN

Brazilian airline TAM has struck a deal with LAN Airlines to offer its passengers more flights.
The partnership, effective as of next week, will allow TAM to sell customers flights to 14 cities in Chile, such as Antofagasta, Calama, Concepcion, Iquique, La Serena, Puerto Montt, Punta Arenas and Valdivia.
Similarly, LAN passengers will also benefit from TAM flights to 12 Brazilian cities, including many trade and tourist destinations such as Rio de Janeiro, Salvador, Porto Alegre, Belo Horizonte, Florianopolis, Brasilia, Recife, Manaus and Porto Seguro.
The partnership with LAN Argentina will provide an increase in the number of flights between Brazil and Argentina.
Passengers will now be able to buy just one ticket for their journeys, with luggage checked-in and transferred to their connecting flight for them by the airlines.
The new routes will also make it easier for tourists in South America travelling between states and further improve Brazil's international flight links.
Brazilian airline Varig (VRG) began operating its new flight route between Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo and London this week.
Lincoln Amano, commercial director at VRG, said: "Launching this new route to London is another important step in Varig's international expansion plan, which already includes flights to key European cities in France, Germany and Italy."
