Brazil Property News: Brazilian business opportunities ‘broadened’

11th September 2007 11:43

Business opportunities in Brazil will be "broadened" by an upcoming tour to promote the country as a tourist destination, according to industry analysts.

During the next six months the Brazilian Tourism Institute, Embratur, will visit 42 trade fairs in 15 countries – including the United States, Japan, and France – promoting the country as a tourist destination.

Brazilian-Arab news agency, ANBA, reported that there was a 12.37 per cent rise in foreign tourists' spending in Brazil in the first seven months of 2007.

Embratur predicts that in 2008 expenditure will reach $4.8 billion, two million more than 2007 when foreign tourists spent $2.8 billion in the country.

Marcelo Pedroso, business and events director at Embratur commented: “The fairs promote a positive image of Brazil in foreign countries…and at the same time broaden the scope of business opportunities for our country.”

The tour coincides with news that Brazilian travel company, Discover Brazil, has created local phone numbers in five different continents to expand its communication network and reach the global tourist market.
