Brazil Property News: Brazilian 'coffee harvest boom'

9th December 2008 02:39

The Brazilian coffee harvest has enjoyed a boom of nearly one-third this year, it has been reported.

Brazilian property investors could be interested to hear the news which suggests the nation is enjoying a time of economic resilience.

Figures released by the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture's National Supply Company revealed the 2008 crop is on track to reach 46 million 60-kilogramme bags, according to Brazzil Magazine.

This would represent nearly ten million bags more than last year's, accounting for growth of some 27.5 per cent and the second largest ever crop on record after 2002/3's 48 million bags.

It was reported this week by Brazzil Magazine that the nation's hotel industry has been largely unaffected by the global financial crisis.

The Brazilian Hotel Industry Association claims the sector has not suffered from any cancellations as a result from the economic downturn and predicts the industry will continue to take off thanks to the 2014 World Cup.
