Brazil Property News: Brazilian cooperatives' export booms

Brazilian-property investors could be interested to hear the nation's export of cooperatives sector has enjoyed growth of 28.4 per cent so far this year, hinting at economic buoyancy, it has been reported

New figures released by the Organisation of Brazilian Cooperatives revealed first-half revenues worth $1.86 billion (£900 million), according to ANBA.

However, in terms of volume, exports were down against the previous period by 300 million tonnes at 3.5 million.

"[The OCB recalls] the percentage of growth was above that of national exports as a whole, which grew 23.8 per cent from January to June," the report detailed.

It added the main market for the products was China, whose sales represented 12.28 per cent of the sector's overall exports.

Meanwhile, it was reported earlier in the week by Brazzil Magazine the ministry of agriculture believes the nation should double its production of grain by 2018.

It was predicted by economists in the New York Times last month that Brazil is about to achieve its potential as a world player
