23rd July 2008 04:27

Those considering buying property in Brazil could be interested to hear the Latin American nation is set to enjoy a record year for dairy exports, according to government forecasts.

According to the latest evaluation of figures from the National Food Supply Company (Conab), the country will ship the equivalent of one billion litres of milk in 2008 generating revenues of some $750 million (£375 million), the ANBA reports.

Maria Helena, an analyst at Conab, told the news agency the trend for the second half of the year is for sales to surge even further.

So far this year, foreign sales of milk have reached some $226.8 million which beats last year's overall figure of $263 million.

"This is a widespread phenomenon in foreign trade, demand rises as a result of year-end parties and cold weather in the Northern Hemisphere," Ms Helena added.

Meanwhile, Brazilian property could be set to benefit from a new advertising campaign aimed at bringing an increased number of tourists to the Latin American nation.
