Unemployment rates in Brazil are the best they have been in five years, say experts.
The job market in Brazil is continuing to improve as the Monthly Employment Survey has revealed this week that the unemployment rate among the economically active population is now just 8.2 per cent, according to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
For the first time ever in the history of the survey the number of unemployed persons was under two million in the month of November, revealed the IBGE.
This record rate was the lowest since the beginning of the survey and translates into a 0.5 per cent decrease compared with October.
Household income per capita grew by 2.8 per cent in the penultimate month of 2007 and 4.5 per cent over the course of the whole year.
Average real income mass for employed persons totalled $13.6 billion (£7.1 billion) which is a growth of 5.4 per cent for 2007 compared with 2006.
Brazil's growing economy is good news for property investors who may see an increase in rental yields from their real estate as a result.
