Brazil Property News: Brazilian employment 'stable'

10th November 2008 06:30

Agencia Brasil reports that the level of employment in industry was almost stable between August and September.

This could be interesting news for those considering buying property in Brazil as it suggests the nation is dealing well with the global economic downturn.

Data from Monthly Industrial Research published today (November 10) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) show industry employment shrank by 0.1 per cent from July.

The research shows that the value of the payroll of industrial workers rose by 2.7 per cent in September following a 0.5 per cent drop in August.

According to the news agency, the IBGE survey said: "The positive development of the indices of industrial employment in recent months reflects greater dynamism of productive activity."

Meanwhile, Brazil dominated the World Travel Awards' South America ceremony last week winning the best beach, hotel and destination awards.
