Brazil Property News: Brazilian government to improve infrastructure

4th December 2007 09:48

The Brazilian government has announced this week that it will invest in a series of improvements to the country's infrastructure.

Chinese news agency Xinhua revealed that the work will be carried out over the next seven years in anticipation of the World Cup 2014.

During the National Meeting of Architecture and Engineering, which was attended by government officials and private businessmen this week, plans were put in place for what the Brazilian tourism minister described as an "avalanche of development".

The tournament will take place in various locations across the country, meaning that many different Brazilian towns and cities will benefit from the influx of tourists the event is forecasted to attract.

Brazil won its bid to host the World Cup 2014 back in October this year after FIFA's president Sepp Blatter said that he was impressed by the country's plans for the tournament, which include the construction of four new stadiums.

The influx of visitors that hosting the international sporting event will bring may be good news for Brazil's property industry as it will give the country a chance to showcase its potential and drum up business.
