Brazil Property News: Brazilian growth forecast increased

29th August 2007 01:55

The Brazilian economy is expected to grow beyond current expectations this year and next.

Over 2007 GDP growth is predicted to hit 4.64 per cent, up slightly on previous estimates, and the forecast for 2008 is up half a percentage point to 4.4 per cent.

Last year GDP increased by 3.7 per cent and the first quarter of 2007 has already seen annual growth of 4.3 per cent.

The poll of industry analysts for Dow Jones also showed that inflation in Brazil may rise next year, but will remain below the central bank's target.

With inflation under control the consensus among industry analysts is that interest rates in Brazil could fall in the coming 12 months.
