Brazil Property News: Brazilian hotel has 'best waterfall location'

17th October 2007 02:25

A Brazilian hotel has one of the top five waterfall locations in the world, according to a national Northern Irish newspaper.

The Belfast Telegraph named the Hotel das Cataratas, which is the only Brazilian resort within the country's Iguacu National Park, one of the top five best hotels by water for its stunning views of the nearby waterfalls.

Hotel das Cataras is a 200-room Portuguese colonial-style, two-storey building which is scheduled for a renovation by new owner Orient Express hotels.

The paper said: "But no one comes here just for the decor. It's the setting they're after; the falls are a two-minute stroll from the building and several of the hotel's rooms have direct views of them."

Environmentalists have also praised the hotel for being the first property in Latin America to qualify for the ISO 14001 Environmental Management certification, owing to its ecological operating policies.

Such high-quality hotel facilities are good news for the rapidly growing tourist industry in Brazil, which has increased in productivity by 134 per cent in just three years.
