Brazil Property News: Brazilian mayor welcomes overseas investors

A Brazilian mayor has welcomed the arrival of overseas investors in his region.
Oziel Oliveira, mayor of Luis Eduardo Magalhaes, praised foreign investment in the region saying it had provided numerous economic benefits.
The town currently has a population of 44,000, compared with 18,000 seven years ago, following an influx of mainly agricultural investors in the area.
Mayor Oziel Oliveira told the BBC: "In the last five users the value of the land in this area of production has gone up by 300 per cent and for us this has had a very important wide impact."
He added that this land used to be "practically savannah" and is now occupied and bringing "economic benefit for us all".
The mayor is so impressed with the American farmers who have invested in property and land in the region he is now hoping to attract Chinese investment in the area.
The Brazilian property market, both agriculturally and commercially, has experienced strong growth over the last few years.
National British daily newspaper, The Sunday Mirror, recently named Brazil one of the top six places in the world to invest.
