The Brazilian property market offers great opportunities, according to one auctioneer.

Sotherby's Brazil claims the nation's housing market offers a good deal, it is reported by the Brazil Arab News Agency.

Those considering buying property in Brazil could be interested to hear the famous firm states it does not believe the global housing crisis has affected the Brazilian property market.

"Buying real estate is, once again, a good deal. It is a safe haven in times of crisis and Brazil has great opportunities to offer investors," Fabio Rossi, director of the firm, told the publication.

He added that Rio de Janeiro, Florianopolis and Santa Catarina are regions that are all attracting a great number of foreign tourists at the moment.

Meanwhile, in other news which could interest Brazilian property investors it was reported by Agencia Brasil this week that President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva claims emerging nations should not foot the bill for the international financial crisis.
