Brazil Property News: Brazilian shoe exports up

The US is the biggest importer of Brazilian shoes, according to figures from the Brazilian Association of Shoe Manufacturers (Abicalcados).
It has been reported by the Brazzil Magazine that the US accounts for more than one quarter (26 per cent) of the sector, accounting for some $380 million (£200 million) in the first nine months of the year.
The news could interest those considering buying property for sale in Brazil as it could suggest economic buoyancy in the nation.
In total, Abicalcados revealed Brazil exported some 30.8 million pairs of shoes
in the first three quarters of 2008, compared to 19.9 million during the same time last year.
Milton Cardosa, the president of the organisation, told the publication: "The activity of the domestic market, which registered growth of 17 per cent in consumption of shoes and textiles, reflected positively mostly for the Asian industry, from where most of the imported products came."
In other news, it was reported by the website that Microsoft has teamed up with the state government of Sao Paulo to offer millions of residents free IT training.
