Brazil Property News: Brazilian tourism promoted at 42 fairs

The Brazilian tourism portal Embratur will promote the country's travel industry at 42 international trade fairs in the latter half of 2007, it has been announced.
Embratur has already entered into discussions with the US, Japan, Russia and France at six international trade fairs this year and has resolved to keep promoting the country as a tourist destination throughout the rest of 2007.
Business and events director for Embratur, Marcelo Pedroso, explained to Brazzil Mag why raising the country's profile in the tourist industry was important.
He told the news provider: "The fairs promote a positive image of Brazil in foreign countries, as they announce tourist destinations, products, and services in strategic markets, forecasted by Plano Aquarela.
"At the same time they broaden the scope of business opportunities for our country."
Brazilian tourism has had a positive year with the number of foreign tourists visiting the country exceeding figures from the previous year in both August and October.
Embratur has forecasted that the overall figures for 2007 will see over six million international passengers enter the country, an increase on the figures for 2006.
