Brazil Property News: Brazilian tourism 'set to increase'

22nd August 2008 04:07

The number of tourists visiting Brazil is set to increase from its level of five million, according to the Brazilian Tourism Institute.

It is expected that tourists coming to Brazil will spend more and stay longer in the country, with many buying property in Brazil, reports Brazzil Mag.

Leonel Rossi, director of international affairs at the Brazilian Travel Agency Association, has commented on the results.

He claimed that he is expecting growth of ten per cent in the number of foreign tourists in Brazil this year.

He went on to say that the Brazilian economy is doing well and people are confident about wages and jobs, meaning that there is more money for people to buy property in Brazil.

"The balance of tourism payments is rising exponentially," Mr Rossi explained to the magazine.

"This money that remains in the country is very important to the economy," he concluded.
