Brazil Property News: Brazilians 'satisfied with president'

22nd December 2008 06:17

It might interest people looking for property in Brazil that the majority of people in the country are satisfied with their president, according to a survey.

President Luiz Lula meets with the approval of 80.3 per cent of respondents in the poll by Instituto Sensus, up 2.6 points from September and over ten per cent from April.

Lula - who represents the Worker's Party - gained 61 per cent of the vote in a run-off against Jose Serra of the Brazilian Party of Social Democracy in the 2002 presidential elections to become leader of the country.

He was re-elected for another four-year term in 2006, defeating Geraldo Alckmin in the second round with 60.8 per cent.

Earlier this month, President Lula said that Brazil is one of the countries best-prepared for the recession, saying the country has a stable, growing economy that is being taken care of by the government.
