Brazil Property News: Brazil's employment booms

16th September 2008 07:00

The number of jobs created in Brazil last month showed a booming growth on the same time last year, it has been reported.

Figures released yesterday (September 15th) in the General Register of Employees and Unemployed were up 79 per cent in August compared to the same period in 2007, according to Agencia Brasil.

The Minister of Labour and Employment announced that 239,123 formal jobs had been generated nationwide, which could be interesting news for those who are considering property for sale in Brazil as it hints at an economic buoyancy in the nation.

According to the report, in the first eight months of 2008 some 1,803,729 jobs were created, which is also a new record and one-third greater than that of the same period last year.

It was reported by the news agency yesterday that the Latin American nation is set to boost funding in the education sector by $10 billion (£5 billion).
