Brazil Property News: Brazil's harvest predicted to boom

9th June 2008 04:48

People considering buying property in Brazil could be interested to hear the country's harvest might reach 144.3 million tonnes this year, it has been reported.

The Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) revealed the total harvest of cereals, pulses and oil could beat 2007's by 8.4 per cent showing economic buoyancy in the Latin American nation, according to Value Online.

IBGE held its fifth national assessment which shows the total harvest exceeds what was predicted in April by 1.2 per cent.

According to the Sistematico Survey of Agricultural Production 19 of the 25 products monitored should see production levels higher than 2007, with the second bean harvest likely to enjoy growth of nearly one-third (32.1 per cent) and coffee by more than one-quarter (27 per cent).

Meanwhile, it emerged last month that the state-owned Brazilian oil giant Petrobras has struck oil again in pre-salt reservoirs along coastal zones of Sao Paulo.
