Brazil's relationship with the US will change if Barack Obama wins his fight to become president, it has been claimed.
According to US economy Nobel Laureate Paul Krugman president George Bush had antagonised some governments that the US should have been working with, reports Brazzil.
He went on to tell the publication that the current US administration has been rather candid towards certain Latin American nations.
"The idea that democracy will always come up with desirable governments for us is rather candid and you can't build foreign policy on those foundations," he is quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, Brazilian president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has stated that a positive outcome of the current economic crisis is that Barack Obama is likely to be named as US president.
Speaking at an award ceremony for the most admired Brazilian companies, the president said that Brazil has all the tools it needs to overcome economic difficulties, noting that the country's financial system has a public face, which is rarely found in other nations and that the domestic market still has room to grow, reports Brazzil Magazine.
