Brazil Property News: Brits: 37% want to escape the economy

4th October 2007 02:26

Nearly 40 per cent of Brits wish to escape the British economy and live abroad, reveals a new survey this week.

According to foreign currency exchange specialists HiFX, millions of people are considering moving abroad to escape the financial problems they face in the UK.

The survey also revealed that 23 per cent of people consider a move overseas after having troubles repaying their mortgages.

The Association for International Property Press' (AIPP) first annual report on international property found that UK buyers spent on average £98,166.67 buying overseas property in 2006, making it a huge market.

Brazil has emerged over the last few years as an economically-friendly choice for property buyers.

The emerging market offers low-price properties in picturesque locations which hold the potential for high returns in future years.

The Global Property Guide explained that for property buyers who make purchases in the "early bird" phases of Brazil's property market, property prices were likely to have risen sharply by the time they sold-up.

The Brazilian government has been praised this week for its well-developed real estate laws which, according to industry experts, protect the property owner whether they are a foreign or local owner.
