Brazil Property News: Brits urged to 'go Brazilian'

9th November 2007 09:21

Britons are being urged to "get dizzy and go Brazilian" this week by a national British newspaper.

One of the most-read papers in the UK, The Sun, has urged its readers to take a trip to the Latin American country, which it says was traditionally a hub for back-packing hedonists but is now evolving into a sophisticated tourist market.

Focussing on the Salvador region of the country, the paper said: "Brazil has mile upon mile of tree-lined deserted beaches, some of the most famous landmarks in the world and some of the most diverse nature.

"The breathtaking colonial architecture of Pelourinho, a Unesco world heritage site, tells of some of the country's fascinating history, while shops dedicated to footballer Ronaldinho offer a modern touch."

Earlier in the week, another national British newspaper, the Daily Telegraph, ran a piece on the Latin American country touting it as a prime holiday destination.

According to the national tourist board Embratur, tourism in Brazil is growing at a rate of 7.2 per cent per year, making it the second biggest tourist industry in Latin America.

Many tourists have been encouraged to invest in property after visits to Brazil, inspired by the country's low prices and the promise of high returns.
