Brazil Property News: Cosmetic vacations are 'a hit' in Brazil

Many people seeking cosmetic surgery are choosing to combine the procedures with a holiday on Brazil's sandy beaches, according to industry experts.
The Irish Independent reports that Rio de Janeiro has become an increasingly popular destination for this type of trip for people "who want to jet off to an exotic location and transform in the process".
Michael Boeckle, owner of CosmeticVacations, told the paper: "A lot of people want to visit Rio de Janeiro as a holiday destination, so many like to combine a trip away in the sun with their surgery."
He said that low travel costs, reliable weather, golden beaches and world class surgeons are factors that have made Brazil a leading contender in cosmetic tourism.
CosmeticVacations was recently invited by US TV station NBC to appear on highly-rated breakfast programme the Today Show to explain the growing phenomenon.
As well as cosmetic tourists, leisure tourists are also visiting the Latin American country in increasingly large numbers, with the tourism sector in Brazil growing at a rate of 7.2 per cent.
