Brazil Property News: Embraer fourth-quarter deliveries up 65%

Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer has announced that its fourth-quarter deliveries were up by 65 per cent in 2007.
The figures mark a record year for the firm, which delivered 61 aircraft in the period compared with 37 in the fourth-quarter during 2006.
In total, Embraer delivered 169 planes in 2007 meaning that the firm successfully met its target of producing between 165 to 170 jets.
Business in the period was divided between commercial jets, of which it distributed 45, and industry planes, of which the firm sold 14 – up from ten in the same quarter during 2006.
Embraer is now the world's fourth-largest aircraft manufacturer reporting an order backlog of $18.8 billion (£9.4 billion) during 2007's last quarter.
As part of its plan to expand, the Brazilian firm now aims to deliver 215 planes in 2008 and a further 350 in 2009.
Its previous delivery record dates back to 2001, prior to the September 11th attacks on the US, when it delivered 169 planes.
